The fact is that wisdom teeth usually have bacteria causing havoc. Since it is difficult to brush and floss right at the end of the oral cavity, extraction is preferred. This is certainly advisable since bacteria can cause problems by leading to tooth decay. There is also a chance where there is misalignment of teeth. What this does is that teeth end up rubbing against the cheek or tongue which leads to considerable pain. If extraction at this point is not done there is a propensity for malocclusion or overcrowding of teeth to occur. One should also know that extraction is a process that comes with its own set of issues. For example, some people who have had their wisdom teeth extracted would be able to remember that excessive bleeding and oozing from the new wound.

There are cases where this takes place up to three days. As per most advice given by dentists, it would be counterproductive to wash your mouth post extraction since coagulation of blood takes place thereby sealing off the wound. However, rinsing with warm water is known to dislodge the blood clots thereby extending the process of bleeding. True enough, wisdom teeth is a problem that can be serious especially given the complications that can arise.
